What People Say about Success Center

"During my eighth grade year I started to attend Success Center for Learning to get help in Algebra. At that time I was struggling to receive low B's. Once I started to attend Success, my grades improved tremendously and I began to get A's on my report card for Algebra. Then in my tenth grade year, I attended Success to get tutoring for Spanish. I was struggling in Spanish to make a high C. After just a few weeks at Success, my grades improved and I received B's and low A's on my report card. As a result of the help from Success I was selected to be a member for National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Success Center for Learning certainly helped me improve my grades." - Clayton Stauter

"Words cannot explain how much Success Center has helped me throughout my high school years. During my 10th grade year, I was enrolled at Success Center, and I went there once a week to get help on my Geometry. By the end of my session, my knowledge was greatly enhanced in that area. During my time at Success Center, my grades rose steadily, eventually reaching mid-to-high A's. I was very pleased. Success Center not only helped me in my core subjects, but also prepared me for the SAT/ACT. I took SAT/ACT preparation courses which helped me improve my score 100 points. Success Center has one ultimate goal: to help students in their problem areas. I believe that Success Center fully succeeded in doing that with me. I also feel strongly that I wouldn't be what I am academically if it hadn't been for Success Center. I give a special thanks to Bee McKinney, Brent Cuttrell, and Pam Christian."
- Amit Agarwal

"Success Center for Learning was very beneficial in my academic achievement at Paris High School. It not only helped me there, but it also helped prepare me for college. I took Success Center's prep course and it helped me raise my SAT score almost 100 points. The course helped me become more self-confident about my school work. It made me realize that I was capable of much more than I thought. It allowed me to raise my SAT scores high enough to be accepted to Austin College, Southern Methodist University, and Texas A&M University. Not only did it help me for college, but it allowed me to brush up on my math and English skills. This helped me in the classroom at school, therefore earning higher grades my senior year. Not only did I learn a lot in the course, but I had fun, too. I recommend it to anyone who who would like to get even the slightest edge on his classmates."
- Jessica Guest

"Success is defined as 'the gaining of something desired, planned or attempted.' Under this definition I was successful at the Success Center for Learning. My ultimate goal was to achieve a higher and more pleasing SAT score for admission to college. Through intensive reading and math curriculum I accomplished this goal by lifting my SAT score up a hundred points. The results speak for themselves."
- Aaron Boudreau

"I received algebra lessons preceding the T.A.S.P. test. I was a great distance away from reaching the goal - transferring to a university to major in chemistry. The perceptual skills of my tutor at Success Center for Learning taught me more than algebra - over and above this, she trained me to study it and, most importantly, coached me in thinking math. On November 11, 2000, I earned an excellent score on my T.A.S.P. algebra exam. Now I am eagerly anticipating my first of many chemistry courses at Paris Junior College."
- Sarah Cain

What steps are necessary before instruction begins?

  • Diagnostic Evaluation - Success Center begins with an extensive diagnostic evaluation that isolates a student's strengths and weaknesses, assesses current abilities and provides the foundation for creation of each student's individualized program of instruction. Subtests within the evaluation include reading/study skills and math/algebra/geometry.
  • Parent Conference - Success Center conducts an individual Parent Conference to discuss the results of the Diagnostic Evaluation. With the parent's permission, Success Center will share the test results and educational goals of the student with the student's teacher.
  • Individualized Program of Instruction - Success Center writes a recommended plan of instruction for each student. The plan of action focuses on skill development, not tutoring. Skill areas focused on include: reading, math, algebra, geometry and study skills.
